For Parents & Teenagers

Parents:

  • Your teen is struggling - with relationships, school, work, or just enjoying life.

  • They worry a lot, disconnects from family, has suddenly become quiet, or just seems "different."

  • They might be the kid you never had to worry about, and now you're worried about them all the time.

  • It's hard when you try everything you know to make things better, but nothing seems to work.

  • You want to understand what's going on so that you can help.

  • You just want to see them be confident, grow, and have a happy life.

Teens:

  • You’re not sure who you are or where you belong.

  • It can be really hard to talk to people or for people to get you.

  • You feel powerless and like you have to prove you’re a good person. Some times you feel overwhelmed.

  • You sleep too much or not enough, and your energy isn’t so great.

  • You worry about things that don’t make sense or think you’re going “crazy” sometimes.

  • You may let people know what’s going on, or you may hide it. Either way, it sucks and you’re ready for it to change.

Today, teenagers are under a lot of pressure. Teenagers are trying to balance multiple responsibilities and plan for their future. Some teenagers are trying to traverse all of this while dealing with additional challenges brought on by ADHD/ADD, depression, or generalized anxiety.

Mental health and well-being are central parts of my practice and my overall approach to counseling is to build relationships. My goal is to be a healthy role model and become a person the client can come to, ask questions, and gain support throughout this phase of life.
