Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT)/Parent Support

Parenting can feel like a battle sometimes!

Parenting does not have to be constant fights. As parents, we often feel challenged by our own past parenting experiences, making the right decision for our children, supporting our child’s independence, or sometimes by our very own child.

Child Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is an evidenced based 10-week program focused on strengthening the attachment and bond between parent and child. This program focuses on building the relationship as a way to help children become better self-managers of their own behaviors. This can be done in conjunction with or without play therapy services.

We offer CPRT both in-person and through telehealth.

CPRT seeks to support parents and caregivers to learn:

  • How to regain control in ways that foster independence and choice for their child.

  • To help their child discover developmentally appropriate ways of coping and expressing themselves.

  • See the world through their child’s eyes and understand their emotional needs more effectively.

  • Most of all play and have fun again with their child.
